Highly loyal, Blaze will do anything for a friend in need. As you begin to prove yourself as a fighter, you earn his trust and become best friends. When D-Mob brings you into the crew at the beginning of the game, Blaze is highly skeptical of you as an outsider. Method Man plays Blaze, D-Mob's advisor, and as such believes in thinking things through before taking action. The rest is history and so is anyone who stands in his way in the FIGHT For NY. He's come a long way from the projects on Staten Island and the early, grimy days when a group of friends teamed together to unleash the most influential hip hop act of its time, the Wu-Tang Clan. Meth has brought the pain, staked his claim, and is waiting to make the next move. He is on top of the rap scene with a lyrical style that is instantly recognizable. A countdown of sorts leading into the game's expected September release, The Faces of Def Jam will be the number one place on the net for all things Fight for NY. A frequent look at most (but not all) of the game's eerily realistic characters, The Faces of Def Jam will detail various tidbits about each fighter in addition to revealing new screenshots and a hi-res movies for good measure.
YES NO To commemorate this new-found direction, IGN and Electronic Arts have teamed up for several weeks to present an ongoing character information series known as The Faces of Def Jam. Those traditionally roped arenas from 2003 are now a thing of like those found in our favorite segments in movies like Fight Club or anything ever starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Unlike last year's distinctly wrestling-oriented Def Jam Vendetta, Def Jam: Fight for NY has expanded its horizons and then some by moving away from the territories occupied by established genre heavyweights like Smackdown and Legends of Wrestling, to become much more like a traditional fighting game - complete with five different fighting styles and plenty of destructible environments. Sticky Fingaz, Crazy Legs, and even Carmen Electra are just a few of them. But nonetheless, EA's forthcoming urban sequel Def Jam: Fight for NY does exactly what we described and boasts almost 70 different characters from around the Def Jam music scene.
Who would have thought that taking a truckload of popular figures from hip-hop culture and combining them with some established movie stars and original bigger than life characters would create such a powerful pre-release buzz? We certainly didn't.
